Winx Stakes Field & Barrier Draw
The field for the 2021 Winx Stakes will be available three days ahead of the race when Racing NSW release the final field, barrier draw and weights.
The Winx Stakes field consists of around 16 runners and is determined by prize money, class and various other handicapping factors.
We will have all barrier draws available when the draw is done during the week of the Winx Stakes. The barrier draw is a big tool used by punters to make their bets.
Winx Stakes Form Guide
There hasn’t been much betting activity in the Winx Stakes for the last few years, due to Winx winning the race. Her races weren’t overly popular as she typically paid around $1.05 to win.
Prior to Winx winning, punters got some good value with some good horses. The likes of Royal Descent, Tiger Tees and Trusting all paid nice prices for well-favoured types.
Punters don’t have much form to go on as it’s one of the first spring races in Sydney, but it takes a good horse to win.
Look for the runners that performed highly in the autumn and ones that are looking for 1600-2000m later in their preparation.
Many past winners have gone on to win the Cox Plate at Moonee Valley.
