J J Atkins Form Guide
The JJ Atkins can be a tough race to assess given it is a two-year-old feature.
When taking a look through the honour roll there's a number of horses that would be unrecognisable to the casual fans, which is not unusual for 2YO races, but in recent years a number of runners that are well favoured in the market have delivered.
We will deliver the complete JJ Atkins form guide once the feature enters its race week.
JJ Atkins History
The JJ Atkins is one of Queensland's favourite races.
Undergoing a number of changes over its 100+ years, the race was first ran as the Claret Stakes and had its name changed a further seven times prior to settling on the JJ Atkins name.
The race also started out as a sprinting contest before being stretched out to the mile journey in 1973 with the event gaining Group 1 status 12 years later.
A number of superstars have taken out this race, including The Autumn Sun, Luskin Star and Freemason.
