There’s plenty of feature race action happening around the globe as we take a look at what’s in store for us this week.….
AUSTRALIA
Feature racing is ablaze this weekend with Derby Day as the highlight at Flemington on Saturday 31 October. Three Group 1 events are the drawcard on the program, namely the Victoria Derby, Coolmore Stud Stakes and the Empire Rose Stakes.
The Damien Oliver and Wakeful Stakes are at Group 2 level with four Group 3 events to round out the meeting which are the Carbine Club Stakes, Rising Fast Stakes, Kirin Ichiban Sprint and The Vanity.
North of the border, Randwick have feature racing of their own on display on Saturday 31 October, headed by the Group 1 Golden Eagle. The Group 2 Russell Balding Stakes and the Listed Rosehill Gold Cup are on the same card.
Over in the west, Ascot play host to the Asian Beau Stakes and the Prince Of Wales Stakes which are both Group 3 events, also on Saturday 31 October.
JAPAN
On Saturday 31 October, Kyoto will host the Group 3 KBS Kyoto Sho Fantasy Stakes, then on Sunday 1 November, the Group 1 Tenno Sho (Autumn) will be decided at the Tokyo meeting.
IRELAND
On Friday 30 October, Down Royal plays host to the Listed Bottle Green Hurdle and the Grade 3 Irish EBF Feathard Lady (M) Novice Hurdle.
Then on Saturday 31 October at the same track, the Grade 1 BetVictor, Remem. Envoi Allen Champ. Sch and Grade 2 Racing Post Steeplechase will both be run ad won.
On Sunday 1 November, Cork plays host to the Listed Paddy Power Irish EBF Novice Hurdle and Grade 3 Paddy Power Irish EBF Novice Steeplechase, while on the same day, The Curragh has the Listed QuinnBet Finale Stakes and Grade 3 QuinnBet Loughbrown Stakes as their feature events for the day.
USA
It’s a big weekend for racing at Keenland and all the action starts on Friday 30 October with no less than five Group 1 events to be decided and they are: Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, Breeders' Cup Juvenile, Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies and the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint.
Then on Saturday 31 October, the action continues at Keenland where another nine Group 1 events will be run and won. They include: Breeders' Cup Distaff, Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint, Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf, Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile, Breeders' Cup Sprint, Breeders' Cup Mile, Breeders' Cup Turf, Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint and the Breeders' Cup Classic.
Then on Sunday 1 November, we head to Belmont Park where the Forty Niner and Bold Ruler Group 3 events will be decided.
