The 2026 Queen Elizabeth Stakes is the highlight at Randwick on Day Two of The Championships and all eyes will be on Autumn Glow in her bid to make it 12 wins from as many starts.
The Chris Waller-trained superstar faces her toughest test yet as she steps to 2000m for the first time in the $5 million feature.
She sits at $1.40–$1.45 in most markets, with Aeliana and Sir Delius sharing the role of key market dangers around the $6 mark, while Dubai Honour remains the value runner at double figures.
The four-year-old comes through the George Ryder Stakes (1500m), the dominant modern lead-up into this race, where she cruised to a three-length demolition of a high-quality field.
That profile stacks up beautifully historically, with the George Ryder to Queen Elizabeth pathway repeatedly producing elite performers, while the Ranvet Stakes to Queen Elizabeth double has landed eight times, most recently with Via Sistina last year.
The key opposition comes through deeper staying form. Aeliana pushed Autumn Glow earlier this campaign over the 1600m before progressing to win both the Ranvet Stakes (2000) and Tancred Stakes (2400m), giving her the strongest 2000m-plus profile in the race.
Dubai Honour also commands enormous respect after doing all the work in front in the Tancred before only being run down late by Aeliana, while Light Infantry Man brings the best last-start figure into the race after his Australian Cup win rated 16 lengths faster than standard benchmark.

Can Autumn Glow be beaten?
It is unlikely, but there are still angles to consider.
The first is race shape. If Dubai Honour rolls forward and Lindermann keeps the pressure genuine, they can turn this into a true 2000m staying test rather than a sit-and-sprint, which gives Aeliana and Dubai Honour their best chance of exposing her first attempt at the trip.
The second is her breeding.
There is no issue on the sire side, with The Autumn Sun having won up to 2000m and consistently producing horses that appreciate getting over ground.
The slight query comes through the dam line, which is full of speed influences. Her dam Via Africa was a pure sprinter, while siblings Pleasant Encounter and In The Congo also excelled over sprint trips.
That said, her racing style gives every indication she will absorb the trip. She relaxes beautifully, conserves energy and has tactical versatility, which removes much of the traditional 2000m concern.
So yes, there are theoretical ways to beat her — make it a brutal staying contest and hope the dam-side speed limits her late — but on exposed evidence she still looks bombproof.

This shapes as a fascinating tactical Group 1 despite the small field.
Barrier 2 could not have worked out better for Autumn Glow. Lindermann and Dubai Honour should ensure genuine enough tempo, Sir Delius can roll forward from gate 3, while Autumn Glow lands the ideal one-out, one-back trail or leader’s back without doing any work. The only horse inconvenienced by the draw is Aeliana from barrier 8, likely forced to concede a couple of lengths to the favourite in transit.
Lindermann and Dubai Honour are the two most likely to inject tempo, with Dubai Honour almost forced to roll forward from barrier 5 after his tough on-speed Tancred effort.
The critical tactical layer is whether Dubai Honour and Lindermann combine to turn it into a true staying 2000m, because that is the only way the race really opens up behind the favourite.

Autumn Glow
This is simply her race to lose.
Barrier 2 gives James McDonald every option, the dry track is ideal and the George Ryder win removed any minor doubts as to whether or not she is the real deal.
Her ability to switch off, conserve energy and explode off any tempo profile makes her incredibly difficult to beat, and while 2000m is a new challenge, everything in her racing style says she will absorb it.
The comparison to Winx continues to grow by the day and this looks another box she ticks on the path towards spring greatness.
2026 Queen Elizabeth Stakes Value Bet
Dubai Honour
Dubai Honour is the best value runner in the field.
He is a proven elite weight-for-age horse, already with three Sydney Group 1 wins, and his Tancred run was enormous after setting a genuinely run tempo and only being collared late by Aeliana.
Back to 2000m is ideal, barrier 5 almost guarantees he rolls into the race early and, most importantly, he is the horse most likely to turn this into the stamina test required to challenge Autumn Glow.
If the favourite is vulnerable anywhere, it is first time at the trip under sustained pressure, and Dubai Honour is the horse best placed to create that scenario.
