Race 3: No.13 Phenom
The Todd Pollard-trained galloper is second-up here and is ideally placed to go one better in this event.
Last start, the Zoustar mare resumed off a five-month break and impressed when she beat all but one home in a BM85, here over 1350m.
Formally with the Team Archibald camp, she settled back in the field on this occasion and after overracing in the middle stages, settled down and in the run home, finished off nicely to grab the silver medal, beaten less than a length on the line.
Drawn the fence here, she maps to be box-seating on settling with Damien Thornton retainging the ride for this assignment.
Already a two-time winner when second-up and down in class here, the four-year-old looks the one to beat in this contest.
Race 4: No.2 Falcon Lair
Team Archibald saddle-up Falcon Lair here who is in top-shelf form and looks a genuine winning chance in this event.
Last start, the Dundeel gelding came off three-straight minor placings when he claimed victory in a BM68 Hcp over 2000m at Hawkesbury.
Mollie Fitzgerald had him settled mid-field early before scouting wide on the turn, then giving punters no cause for concern, he took over inside the final 200m and went on to score comfortably in the end, crossing the line more than a length clear.
Facing just his own age group here, the three-year-old draws ideally in gate two where he maps to be box-seating on settling and has Ryan Maloney as the new pilot.
Stepping onto Queensland racetracks for the first time here, his resume shows eight starts for eight podium finishes and with a trouble-free run here, that record looks set to remain intact after this contest.
Race 6: No.8 Savagery Vibe
The Tony Gollan-trained galloper is high-flying this preparation and in her current form, looks a serious player in this event.
Last start, the Brutal mare made her Doomben debut and did well when she beat all but one home in a BM78 Hcp over 1200m.
Martin Harley settled her back in the field before working her into the race approaching the turn, then made up ground in the run home but gave away too much start, and had to settle for second prize on the day.
Meeting similar company here, she draws well in gate three and maps to settle near mid-field with cover as Harley sticks with her for this assignment.
In top-class form this time in, the four-year-old has finished on the podium in all five starts this campaign and with a clear run to the line here, she can make six-straight in this contest.
