The Queen Of The Turf Stakes shapes as one of the major highlight on Day Two of The Championships at Randwick and it is tight at the top of the betting with Pride Of Jenni, Lady Shenandoah and Treasurethe Moment all vying for favouritism.
Pride Of Jenni returns to mares grade, a profile that has been highly profitable since her breakout spring in 2023. She has raced against her own sex on just three occasions in that period for dominant wins in the Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) twice and a Listed 1600m victory at Caulfield carrying 61kg, making this Group 1 well within her reach.
Lady Shenandoah brings arguably the strongest formline after her George Ryder Stakes (1500m) 4th behind Autumn Glow, a run that was nine lengths faster than standard benchmark and now comes back to mares company with the James McDonald and Chris Waller combination remaining a major positive.
Treasurethe Moment has rediscovered form with a dominant Group 2 victory in Melbourne and now looks to return to the level that saw her place in the Cox Plate (2040m). Her 11 wins from 18 starts and proven ability against elite company keeps her firmly in the winning conversation.
The lead-up races are deep this year. Four runners come through the Coolmore Classic (1500m), headed by Lazzura, while another four emerge from the Emancipation Stakes (1500m). Lady Shenandoah maps perfectly to sit outside or just behind the leader, ensuring she gets every chance to pounce at the right stage.
TreasuretheMoment lands in the ideal stalking role just behind the speed and looks the runner most likely to capitalise if the tempo becomes genuinely run.
Lazzura, Arctic Glamour and Melody Again all look set to settle off the speed, which makes them highly dangerous if Pride Of Jenni overcooks the race up front.
The key tactical point: if Pride gets a soft lead she is extremely hard to run down, but if the pressure goes on early it brings the swoopers right into contention.

Since her breakthrough in the spring of 2023, Pride Of Jenni has dropped back into mares grade only three times for two dominant Empire Rose Stakes wins and a Listed mile win carrying 61kg, while the timing of this race mirrors the same stage of her previous two preparations.
Importantly, this time last year she came through an Australian Cup 9th then went 16 lengths faster than standard benchmark when producing a huge run at the same stage of her campaign with a big weight at Caulfield.
Back against her own sex and likely controlling the race from the front, she will set Randwick alight and is every chance of scorching to another famous win.

Lazzura
Lazzura looks the best value play in the race.
She has clearly returned a more mature mare this preparation, following a strong first-up second over 1300m with a history-defying Coolmore Classic win carrying 58kg, a performance that was 11.5 lengths faster than standard benchmark on a genuinely run tempo.
The switch to weight-for-age conditions is a major positive and removes one of the biggest challenges she overcame in the Coolmore.
She now comes into the race third-up, the exact stage she produced a career peak benchmark figure when 5th in the Toorak Handicap over the mile, suggesting she is perfectly placed to produce another peak run.
The daughter of Snitzel gives every indication she has come back better this campaign and, at the current quote, she is the standout value runner in the market.
