Queensland Oaks Tips - Mare Of Mt Buller to upset stablemate at Eagle Farm?

The Queensland Oaks will be held at Eagle Farm on Saturday and is the only Group 1 in Australia on Saturday June 8.

Scarlet Oak is one of six runners in the final field for Chris Waller, who saddled up the mighty Winx to claim this race back in 2015. Waller has won this race on three occasions with Egg Tart and Youngstar among his other winners.
A field of 18 plus five emergencies have accepted for the $700,000 million race to be run on Saturday.
2024 Queensland Oaks Preview
The Doomben Roses (2000m) is always one of the key lead ups towards the Queensland Oaks and this year’s edition was taken out by Scarlet Oak.
The daughter of Kermadec was stepping up from a Newcastle 1600m win and settled handy before arriving in time to defeat Mare Of Mt Buller.
Miss Jolene drew wide and settled back before producing the fastest last 200m to run 3rd. The locally trained galloper will have to do it the hard way again after drawing barrier 22 for this (likely to jump from 17 after the removal of emergencies).
The Kiwi galloper, Molly Bloom, was never on the track but ran on well for 5th in the Doomben Roses. She is a possible improver.
Ahuhiri is another Waller contender and took on the boys when 5th in the South Australian Derby (2500m). She wasn’t far from Warmonger that day. That horse was runner-up and has since taken out the Queensland Derby (2400m) by a whopping 10-length margin.
Pace in this race looks a little bit questionable and it might pay to consider one that will settle in the front half. Amazonian Lass and Socks Nation are among those that might take up the running.
Scarlet Oak draws barrier 15 and will need to find a spot early on. She settled handy in the Doomben Roses.
Tutta La Vita is another that draws out and has pushed across in the past with some success. The Kiwi combination of Moonlight Magic and Molly Bloom are likely to settle back

Best Bet - Mare Of Mt Buller
No knock on Scarlet Oak and she could be the real deal but I think there is a slight discrepancy in the market between her and the stablemate, MARE OF MT BULLER.
The daughter of Dundeel has been running on nicely at her past few starts and was held up in the straight in the Doomben Roses before producing the fastest last 200m to just miss out behind Scarlet Oak.
Her only start at Eagle Farm came over the 1600m three starts ago when running on for 7th over the 1600m, beaten just over a length, She draws barrier 2 for this assignment and might enjoy the favours with some of the other key hopes drawing wide.
Value Bet - Concello
This might depend on whether or not the Eagle Farm track holds it’s Soft rating with fine weather forecast in the lead up to the race but Concello can be a surprise packet at a bit of a price.
Another from the Waller stable, she failed at Group 1 level in Adelaide two starts ago, which has been her only poor performance this preparation. She may be excused for that, racing anti-clockwise that day on a Good track.
The daughter of Trapeze Artist was impressive when running on for 3rd behind the likes of Good Banter and Autumn Angel prior to that at Rosehill over the 2000m in what has been an excellent form race and she was five lengths ahead of Ahuriri that day on the Heavy.
She has had a final tune-up over the 1800m at Randwick, running quick time relative to the other horses in this race when runner-up on a Soft deck. She will be handy in the run from barrier 7 and is a value player.
