Last years winner Behemoth is back to defend his crown and at $4.20 with, he narrowly holds favouritism over Tofane, with the three-time Group One winner a $4.60 chance.

Memsie Stakes Tips

Best Bet - Behemoth

Sticking with last year’s winner based off the fact that he is a genuine 1400m Caulfield horse being a winner of two Group One races over this track and trip.

His win in the Spring Stakes was strong (albeit on protest), but I loved the way he really dug in late and was looking in need of this 1400m journey.

We know what Behemoth can do, now it is just about finding a position with cover in running and he may well he too good at this stage of the prep.

Next Best Bet - Inspirational Girl

She is the one who could show up and blitz her rivals, although is a mare that may get a mile this prep at Group One level.

Inspirational Girl has a phenomenal turn-of-foot which she showed in Perth when last in work, culminating in a huge win in the Railway Stakes.

1400m first-up looks ideal, a trip which has proven her best through her career thus far, but watch out as she tackles a few races this prep over a touch further.

Value Bet - Sierra Sue

I don’t believe she can win it as it looks a race of those in the market, but if there was a boil over, this is the mare that can cause it.

Sierra Sue was terrific in the PB Lawrence when beautifully ridden to claim victory there, while she is one who holds her form once she finds it.

I doubt she has the class to go with the likes of Behemoth if they all get luck, but she is now proven at WFA level and is the hard-fit runner in form for this feature.
