The Magic Millions Classic is a restricted race for two-year-old’s that were bought at a Magic Millions auction and is worth $3 million in prize money.

The race is run under set weights over a distance of 1200m at the Gold Coast Turf Club.

First run in 1987, the race has been won by some champion juvenile’s including Testa Rossa (1999), Dance Hero (2004) and Sunlight (2018).

Another quality field has been assembled and we’ve gone through every horse below.

1. Quietly Arrogant (16)

Peter Snowden trained colt that couldn’t have been much more impressive when scoring on the Sunshine Coast last weekend at start number two.

Can’t miss the start like he did that evening especially considering he has drawn so wide.

2. Gallo Nero (5)

Broke through for his maiden win at start two last time out over 1100m at Randwick and savaged the line like a young horse that knows what it’s all about.

Will only take improvement out of that experience and has drawn well in barrier five with Tyler Schiller steering.

3. Secret Sort (2)

Missed a place for the first time at start four in the B.j Mclachlan Stakes at Eagle Farm two weeks ago but was far from disgraced.

I’d suggest Vlad Duric will take a forward position from barrier two which will give him every chance.

4. Luva Flutta (7)

Recorded the second win at start three on the Sunshine Coast to close out his last campaign before having a quick let up.

The son of Spirit Of Boom will carry some fitness in from that last prep and has had a trial in that time away.

5. Cool Archie (20)

Yet to win in three career starts but was placed behind Icarian Dream at Group 3 level last start.

Drawn poorly and would need to improve.

6. Icarian Dream (21)

Recorded the second, and best, win of his short career last time out when making up considerable ground late and racing away from his rivals at Eagle Farm.

There are not too many horses in this race that are already Group 3 winners so on exposed form, he has to be a chance.

7. O’ OIe (3)

Already a Magic Millions winner at Wyong over 1100m two starts back where she led all of the way despite jumping awkwardly.

Was a little disappointing last time out and Rachel King has been replaced with Tommy Berry for this event.

8. Vein Girl (6)

Won her only start on the Gold Coast over 1000m just before Christmas beating home a smart one in Torque To Be Sure.

Big ask to win this at start number two but she’s a progressive type with plenty of natural speed.

9. La Bella Boom (10)

Comes into this event off the back of two wins in a row including a 2.5 length win on the Sunshine Coast on the weekend.

Both of those wins have been on a soft track so any rain will help her chances.

10. Invincible Woman (9)

Another daughter of I Am Invincible who absolutely dominated her rivals in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic at Caulfield in mid December.

She’s been given an easy trial win in between now and then and if she can continue to improve she may just be the horse to beat.

11. Hi Barbie (14)

Tony Gollan saddles up this smart filly who has put the writing on the wall with an excellent win at Listed level back in November.

She had cardiac arrhythmia at Eagle Farm so that run can be forgiven and we might even get a better price now!

12. The Playwright (8)

Earned herself a trip north with a solid win on debut at Rosehill and managed to place at group 3 level last time out.

Can continue to improve and has drawn to get a nice run in transit.

13. Memo (1)

Has placed in all three runs so far in her short career but it was a pretty hot form race at Randwick last start.

The step up to 1200m looks ideal now and she’s one of the leading chances.

14. Formula Rossa (18)

Nice winner over 1200m at Eagle Farm two back but was well beaten last time out.

Would need to improve to be any chance in a race of this qualioty.

15. Don’tdoubtthelady (17)

Dominant win on debut in Rockhampton earned this daughter of Dubious a trip to town where she has placed in both starts at Doomben and the Sunshine Coast.

Has settled on or just off the pace in all three career starts and might not have a choice but to do that again from the wide barrier.

16. Forgotten Spirit (11)

Has placed in both career starts on the Gold and Sunshine Coast but was never a winning threat.

Would need to improve.
