The Magic Millions 2YO Classic is run over 1200 at Gold Coast with a purse of $2M in prize money.

Previously, we have seen stars such as Sunlight, Capitalist and Testa Rossa take out this event, so although restricted to Magic Millions horses, the race is rarely short on quality.

This year, Coolangatta from the Maher & Eustace stable looks the two-year-old to beat in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Magic Millions 2YO Classic Tips

Best Bet - Coolangatta

This filly has shown that she is the best two-year-old in Australia, winning in ridiculous fashion in the Gimcrack last prep and winning the BJ McLachlan in great style.

She was not wound up to win first-up so I am more than happy to excuse the fact that she won under a ride, but overall she still won easily.

Although she is currently a very short priced favourite in the market, I am expecting her to hit even money on raceday and even with a drift, I think she is going to prove a class above.

Next Best Bet - Soaring Ambition

This filly was an outstanding winner of the Wyong Magic Millions two starts back then had her colours lowered last start in a strong 2YO handicap, but overall was probably an little unlucky not to go closer.

She raced on the inside of gallopers before racing tight in between horses to hit the line well, and I am not convinced that she relished the very wet ground.

Hopefully back to a firmer surface at the Gold Coast, we could see this girl challenge the favourite if she is not at her top.

Value Bet - Golden Artie

This was the gelding that defeated Soaring Ambition last start, making up for what was a very unlucky run at the Sunshine Coast first-up.

There has been a bit of a spruik about him his whole career and always trialled like a stakes winner in the making, but getting to the Gold Coast I just feel that the runner-up may be able to turn the tables on a fimer surface.

He looks an exciting type in the making and I do not believe that the penny has dropped as of yet, so expect another great effort if he draws a gate in the Millions.
