Rosehill Guineas Tips - Goldrush Guru to serve it up to Broadsiding on Golden Slipper day at Rosehill

Broadsiding has been posted as favourite at around the $2.30 quote in most markets and is one of four that come out of the Randwick Guineas (1600m) that was held on March 8. 

The Godolphin galloper missed out as a $1.60 favourite behind Linebacker in that race, settling handy but being outsprinted in a dash to home. He went 8.7 lengths faster than standard and improved 11 lengths at the same stage of his last preparation when 3rd in the Cox Plate (2040m). 

Swiftfalcon came home with the fastest last 200m to run 3rd at Randwick, while Aeliana was 4th and Our Benefactor 6th. 

Goldrush Guru is second favourite in the betting and was 3rd in the Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington, going 11.3 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. The South Australian comes into this fourth up off a spring campaign that saw him take out the Victoria Derby. Plymouth was 5th at Flemington. 

Checkmate represents a bit of X-factor, coming over from New Zealand. The Kiwis have a good record in Sydney at this time of the year and he was solid when 3rd behind Damask Rose in the $3.2 million Kiwi (1500m) last time. That form ties in with Evaporate, who was runner-up. 

Rough hopes go to Majorca Sunset and Savour The Dream, while Bernen Win and Kosuke are likely to start at cricket- score odds. 

There doesn't look to be much speed here and Goldrush Guru might take up the running, while, Checkmate and Plymouth wont be too far away. Interesting to see where Broadsiding ends up from barrier 9 with James McDonald on board. He has landed close to the speed in his last three runs but might be better suited ridden back. Swiftfalcon and Aeliana will settle second half. 

I am very keen on Goldrush Guru in the Rosehill Guineas. He looks to have come back in great order and does have the benefit of an extra run. He was a big improver at this stage of his last preparation and is proven over the distance. No knock on Broadsiding, who produced some big figures at this stage when eight-lengths off Via Sistina in the Cox Plate but I wouldnt have minded seeing more from him last time at the business end. 

Sticking with the Melbourne form here and Plymouth is one that might have a bit of upside. Trained by Glen Thompson, and formerly by Mike Moroney, he was solid in the Australian Guineas without much luck and has had a stack of thins go against since taking out his Maiden at Bendigo last September. With the exception of one run when leading first up for a 3rd behind Angel Capital, the son of The Autumn Sun (with the Dundeel influence on the dam side) has run into brick walls in a number of runs and with a clear crack at them, he is definitely one to consider at odds.
