Two-time Group One winner and last year's Memsie Stakes winner Behemoth is again one of the leading chances in this year's race and will jump from barrier 9.

He was coiled up on the fence last year before exploding through a gap at the top of the straight and having the race shot to pieces by the 200m mark, which came off the back of a Spring Stakes victory, the same as this year.

Tofane (barrier 4), won two Group One races over the Brisbane Winter, coming here with residual fitness, while Godolphin star Colette (barrier 12) will be appreiciating any give in the ground.

Beau Rossa (barrier 1) looks another leading fancy after losing the Spring Stakes to Behemoth last start on protest, but looks well placed over the seven furlongs.

A total of 12 runners make up a strong final field for the Memsie Stakes, which is the first Group One of the Melbourne Spring Carnival.
