King Charles III Stakes Tips - Pride Of Jenni to get the chasing in the $5 million Group 1

It is the bold front running mare from Melbourne, Pride Of Jenni, that is favourite for the $5 million mile race ahead of Fangirl, while the Epsom (1600m) winner, Ceolwulf, is the only other runner under double figures. 

At the time of writing, Randwick, was rated a Soft deck with more showers on the way in the lead up to the race but it is unlikely that we will get to a Heavy. 

Pride Of Jenni has excited racing fans with her style of running and her last run at Randwick came in the Queen Elizabeth Staks (2000m), producing one of the all-time great wins when opening up a massive margin on her rivals. 

The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper will set the tempo up front and might even be joined by Major Beel. Pericles and Zougotcha might lead the chasing pack, while Fangirl and Celestial Legend are among those that will get back. 

Impossible to go past Pride Of Jenni and I think she has panels on these. The seven-year-old went 14 lengths faster than standard benchmark when taking out the Feehan Stakes (1600m) at her most recent start and the form from that race has held up with the 3rd and 4th placegetters, Antino and Attrition, producing wins in strong company at their next start. Pride Of Jenni comes into this with three runs under her belt and generally gets better the deeper she goes into her prep. 

I liked the way Celestial Legend closed off at his last start. The four-year-old was has been a tad disappointing in his two runs this time in but I think those performances have been better than they have looked. The son of Dundeel closed off with the fastest last 400m and 200m last time at Rosehill in the Shannon Stakes (1500m) behind Amor Victorious. Third up in the autumn, he improved four lengths on benchmark figures to claim the Randwick Guineas (1600m) before going 16.3 lengths faster than standard to take out the Doncaster. If there is an upset in the King Charles III Stakes, this guy might be the one to pull it off. `
