Coolmore Classic Tips - Can they catch Lady Shenandoah in the Coolmore Classic for the fillies and mares?

2025 Coolmore Classic Preview
A field of 15 have accepted for the $1 million feature and it is the last start Surround Stakes (1400m) winner, Lady Shenandoah that has been posted as favourite despite drawing barrier 13. Amelia’s Jewel is second favourite after her first up victory in the Guy Walter Stakes (1400m), while Lady Of Camelot is on the third line of betting and the only other runner below double figures.
Four runners come out of the Surround Stakes for the three-year-olds with Lady Shenandoah and Amelia’s Jewel providing the exacta, while Lazzura (3rd) and Manaal (5th) were also in action. The latter were well beaten but, respectively, are 4.5kg and 3.5kg better off at the weights. The winner went 12.6 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the second best last start figure of any runner in the race, behind Marble Arch, who took out the Blamey Stakes (1600m) from the likes of Attrition and Zardozi.
In contrast, Amelia’s Jewel went just 4.2 lengths slower than standard benchmark with her win. That was on the back of an early tempo that saw them crawl along, with the Anabel Neasham & Rob Archibald galloper allowed to dictate from barrier 1.
Alsephina is a possible improver out of that, despite finishing last. She never saw daylight in the straight. Olentia chased in vain to place 4th. She produced the fastest 400m-200m split and the second fastest last 200m.
Couer Volante (Win) and Grinzinger Belle (4th) raced at Caulfield in the Mannerism Stakes (1400m). Couer Volante was impressive in winning by four lenghts, going 9.6 lenghts faster than standard.

Grinzinger Belle is likely to push across to take up the running from barrier 12 with Lady Shenandoah close by. Amelia’s Jewel draws barrier 6 and has led or settled handy in five of her past six starts. Alsephina should be up there. Lady Of Camelot draws barrier 14. Tim Clark will need to assess options early on and has gone forward on the Golden Slipper (1200m) winner in her last two starts but took a sit in the Magic Millions prior to that. Olentia and Firestorm are among those that will get back.
2025 Coolmore Classic Best Bet
Really hard to go past Lady Shenandoah in the Coolmore Classic. The only concern is that she meets her rivals from the Surround Stakes on worse terms at the weights but the daughter of Snitzel gives the impression that she has improvement to come and the figures she produced at her last run were outstanding. Barrier 13 is the widest that she has been dealt in her career but she has the early speed to negotiate that with one of the best on board in James McDonald.
2025 Coolmore Classic Value Bet
Marble Arch brings some different formlines and I respect those that she beat last time. She is one to consder but my value pick is Manaal. The Mitchell Freedman galloper has been wide in her two runs this time in and covered a stack of ground in the Surround Stakes before being entitled to tire late. She meets Lady Shenandoah 3.5kg better at the weights and with a softer time of it in transit, she can finish alot closer.
