All Aged Stakes Tips - Briasa to streak away in the All Aged Stakes at Randwick

The TJ Smith Stakes (1200m) winner, Briasa, is one of a number of big names in action for the final Group 1 race of the Sydney autumn, the All Aged Stakes.
The four-year-old from the Team Hawkes camp is one of six contenders that come out of the TJ Smith Stakes, including Jimmystar (4th), Kimochi (5th), Magic Time (6th), Sunshine In Paris (8th) and Joliestar (9th).
The $3 million sprint has produced 11 winners of the All Aged Stakes since 2004, when it reverted to the 1400m, including last year’s winner, Magic Time, who improved from a 7th placing to score.
Broadsiding is another big name in action and drops back from the 2000m after claiming the Rosehill Guineas (2000m) at his most recent start. He is the only three-year-old in the race and the youngsters have won five All Aged Stakes since 2012. The stable had success with Cascadian in 2022, while that horse was 3rd behind Giga Kick when dropping down from the 2000m in 2023.
Antino appears for the first time since the spring and is in the market. The Group 1 winner has a strong first up record of four wins from six starts and draws the inside barrier.
Belclare and Grail Seeker add a bit of X-factor, coming ove from New Zealand, while Benedetta and Desert Lightning are among some of the roughies in the race.

Belclare and Desert Lightning are likely to take up the running, while Magic Time, Kimochi and My Oberon are likely to settle handy. Broadsiding and Briasa draw next to each other in barrier’s 3 and 4 and won’t be too far away. Joliestar will settle midfield or worse, while Antino, Jimmystar, Benedetta and Sunshine In Paris are among those that will get back.
2025 All Aged Stakes Best Bet
Briasa could be anything and had the measure of his rivals in the TJ Smith Stakes. That form has stood the test of time in terms of this race over the years and the son of Smart Missile went 13 lengths faster than standard, which is the best last start benchmark figure of any horse in this race. He improved more than 10 lengths at the third run of his last preparation when scoring at Randwick. With seven wins from nine career starts and excuses in the other two, he looks fairly bomb proof, while he draws perfectly in barrier 4.
2025 All Aged Stakes Value Bet
I don't mind what the James Cummings stable are doing with Broadsiding, who is dropping down from the 2000m. They have had some sucess with this formula in the past. The three-year-old failed at this stage of his last preparation when fourth up and coming down in trip after the Cox Plate (2040m) to drop out of it in the Champions Stakes (1600m) at Flemington. But unlike the Cox Plate, the Rosehill Guineas was not a gut-buster run at all and he should have plenty left in the tank. The three-year-old has some excellent 1400m stats, while he is another that draws to enjoy a nice time of it with the top jockey, James McDonald to ride.
