Race 5: No.1 Barrelling
The Tony Gollan-trained galloper is second-up here and ticks the right boxes that suggest he is a winning chance in this event.
Last start, the Toronado gelding resumed off a lengthy 23 weeks in the paddock and did well to finish third in a Class 2 Hcp over 1200m at Beaudesert.
William Galloway settled him back in the field before tracking wide on the turn and although never a winning chance, he ran home strongly to claim the minor prize in the event.
Dropping sharply in grade here, he faces BM0-65 company and from gate two, maps to settle better than mid-field with Ben Thompson returning for his second ride on the gelding.
Fitter now and already a winner when second-up, the five-year-old looks the one to beat in this contest.
Race 6: No.8 Snitzstream
The Stuart Kendrick-trained galloper is high-flying after three starts back and looks every chance of back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Snitzel mare made it third run lucky this preparation when she broke through for her first career win by taking out a Maiden Hcp, here over 1100m.
After doing some early work from barrier eight, Archie McColm settled her outside the leader to the turn, then soon after straightening, took the lead and went on with it to win comfortably by a length on the line.
Stepping-up to Class 1 opposition here, she draws out in gate ten and maps to cross and settle near mid-field with new pilot Bella Youngberry in the saddle for this assignment.
Now a winner at the track and at her peak here, she looks a major player to win this contest.
Race 7: No.4 Yoweri
Tony Gollan saddles-up Yoweri here who is in career-best form this time in and looks set to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the I Am Invincible gelding came off a Class 2 win at Ballina when he finished a close-up third in a BM65, here over the 800m sprint.
From gate seven, he reared at the start and settled back in the field, costing him a realistic winning chance but in the run home, found plenty and stormed the line, arriving in time to claim the minor prize in the race, just nosed out of second money.
Facing BM68 company here, he steps-up to a more favourable 1100m where he is already a two-time winner and from barrier eight, maps to settle better than mid-field with Bella Youngberry aboard for the first time.
Conditions look more favourable here and with a trouble-free run, he looks the testing material in this contest.
