Murray Bridge racing takes place on Wednesday, September 9 with an 8-race program set down for the Murray Bridge racetrack.

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for  Murray Bridge racetrack.

Race 5: No.3  Rich Britt

The Team Jaensch-trained galloper is two starts into this preparation and down in grade here, looks a real chance of bouncing back in this event.

Last start, the Danerich mare came off her maiden win on this track when she stepped-up in grade and found the competition too rich, finishing unplaced in a BM62 over 1050m at Morphettville.

From gate two, Tala Hutchinson had her box-seating on settling to the turn, then coming off heels, she tried to go with them in the run home and did well to the 100m mark before the class told as she weakened out of it, beaten 6.5 lengths over the line.

Back to country racing here where she faces Class 1 company and from gate four she maps to settle near the speed with Hutchinson in the saddle again.

The stable slip the blinkers on for the first time and already a track and distance winner here, the four-year-old looks far better placed in this contest and looks well worth an each-way ticket here.

Race 6: No.3  Aloha Blue

The Kate Halliday-trained galloper is in career-best form of late and ticks enough boxes here to suggest back-to-back wins are on the cards in this event.

Last start, the all-Australian bred mare rang-up win number four when she clobbered her rivals in a BM0-56 over 1200m at Strathalbyn.

From the outside gate (10), Jason Holder settled her near mid-field to the turn before coming off heels and as they turned she was the widest runner and in the run home, finished too strong for them, crossing the line more than a length clear in the end.

Meeting similar company here, she draws nicely in gate four and maps to settle better than mid-field with apprentice Sophie Potter steering the ship for this assignment.

Coming off an impressive win and placed three times at the track previously, the six-year-old looks capable of claiming the winner’s cheque again in this contest.

Race 7: No.6  Mandarin

Shae Norton saddles-up Mandarin here who has found her mojo recently and looks a winning chance in this event.

Last start, the Santos mare finally broke through for her first career win when she took out a set weights Maiden, here over 1600m.

Leaving the gates for the 13th time, Dylan Caboche settled her fourth on the fence to the turn then crossed off heels and then three-deep, joined the leaders half way home and went on to score by more than three lengths on the line. The money was good that day ($7.50-$5.50).

Facing BM0-58 company here, she draws gate seven and maps to cross and settle just behind the speed with Caboche retaining the ride.

Now a track and distance winner, a trouble-free run can see the five-year-old going back-to-back in this contest.
