Randwick racing takes place on Saturday, October 24 with a 10-race program set down for Randwick racetrack.

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for  Randwick racetrack.

Race 4: No.5  Ciaron’s Star

The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper is second-up here and ticks enough boxes to suggest she can give this event a real shake.

Last start, the I Am Invincible filly resumed after six months off the scene and did well to beat all but one home in the Group 3 Heritage Stakes over 1100m at Rosehill.

Zac Lloyd settled back in the field to the turn, then sticking to the fence, chased home the race-favourite (Blue Door) and just lacking race fitness, was gallant in defeat, sticking on for that second prize.

Drawn well in gate three here, she maps to settle back in the field with Lloyd remaining aboard for this assignment.

Fitter for that first-up effort and already a winner when second-up, the three-year-old looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.

Race 5: No.4  Why So Hard

The Team Hawkes-trained galloper has his third race start here and second-up this preparation, looks a major player for victory in this event.

Last start, the All Too Hard gelding resumed after 18 weeks in the paddock and did well to finish third in the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill.

Slowly away, Tyler Schiller settled him back in the field to turn and was awkwardly placed on the fence , then in the run home, was held-up most of the way and only clear over the final 100 where he was doing his best work to finish strongly enough to grab the minor prize in the race.

Stepping-up to the 1600m here, he draws gate six and maps to settle near mid-field with Schiller calling the shots again.

A winner on debut at this track, the three-year-old will strip fitter here and with the extra ground to run over, looks in the mix for victory in this contest.

Race 7: No.8  Global Goal

John Sargent saddles-up Global Goal here who is yet to run a bad race and looks ideally placed here for back-to-back success in this event.

Last start, the Irish-sired filly was third-up and off two minor placings when she finished best to claim victory in the Group 1 Flight Stakes, here over 1600m with regular rider Dylan Gibbons aboard.

Ridden a treat by Gibbons, she settled back in the field and tracked the field to the turn, before scouting wide on straightening and in the run home, timed her last effort to perfection, arriving in time to grab the gold medal on the line.

Well drawn in gate three, she maps to settle back in the field as she steps-up to the 2000m trip for the first time.

At her peak after three runs back this time in, the three-year-old looks set to eclipse the efforts of Montefilia (in 2020) and claim the Flight Stakes and Spring Champion Stakes double.
