The Michael Freedman-trained Ninja has made an explosive start to his racing career and looks set to go on with it in this event.

Last start, the Farnan gelding was having just his second start and made it look easy when he destroyed his opposition in a Maiden Hcp over 1300m at Kembla Grange.

On a Heavy 9 that day, the white-hot $1.30 favourite found the front running and from there, it was just a procession as the three-year-old went on to score officially by 11 lengths on the line.

Andrew Adkins was aboard for that big win and retains the ride here where the gelding draws gate four and maps to lead them from the outset.

There is plenty of upside with this galloper and he looks the one to beat in this contest.

Race 8: No.10 Captain Furai

The Chris Waller-trained galloper is second-up here and ticks all the boxes that suggest he is a genuine winning chance in this event.

Last start, the Toronado gelding resumed after nine months off the scene and impressed when he beat all but one home in a BM78, here over 1400m.

On a Heavy 10, James McDonald (J.Mac) settled him just behind the pace before taking the lead where he ran home strongly but couldn’t hold off the challenge by one fitter on the day.

Meeting similar company here, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen after crossing from barrier eight and already a winner when second-up, with J.Mac on board again, he can figure in the finish of this contest.

Race 9: No.3 Ravenclaw

Chris Waller saddles-up Ravenclaw here who has returned to the track with a vengeance and looks a great chance of taking out this event at odds.

Last start, the Harry Angel gelding resumed off a seven-month break and did it in style when he took out a BM78, here over 1100m.

Tommy Berry had him leading on settling and revelling in the heavy going, raced away to score by almost four lengths on the line.

Drawn nicely in gate four here, he maps to settle near the speed as Berry sticks with him for this assignment.

Already a winner when second-up and has had success at the track and distance as well, he looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
