Race 3: No.2 Wa Wa Wa

The Chris Waller-trained galloper has his third race start today and after two encouraging runs to date, looks ideally placed to break through in this event.

Last start, the Deep Field gelding found the podium again when he finished third in a 1250m Maiden at Canterbury with James McDonald in the saddle.

Trying to lead all the way, he set an honest pace before losing out to the challenges, still fighting on to collect his second-straight minor prize.

Sporting the blinkers for the first time, the three-year-old is perfectly drawn here in gate one, he maps to lead them again with new pilot Nash Rawiller at the helm.

More experienced now and fitter for those first two runs, he looks the testing material in this contest.

Race 4: No.6 Eternal

Waller and Rawiller team-up again here with Eternal who is second-up today and although up in grade, still looks a serious contender for the major prize.

Last start, the Epaulette filly resumed off a lengthy 33-week break when she beat all but one home in a BM64 over 1250m at Canterbury.

Box-seating on settling, she came off heels in the run home and finished just a neck from victory that day.

Fitter today, the step-up to the 1500m shouldn’t be a concern and from gate six, the three-year-old maps to settle in the first half-dozen with cover.

A trouble-free run should see her figure in the finish of this contest.

Race 7: No.5 Flying Thinker

Peter Snowden saddles-up the consistent Flying Thinker here who is yet to miss a podium finish in three starts this preparation and looks well placed here to continue the good work.

Last start, the well-bred So You Think mare was third-up when she beat all but one to the line in a BM72 over 1400m at Warwick Farm.

That made it three wins and as many minor placings from her seven career starts to date.

Her early gate speed has the mare settling near the speed from gate seven with Kerrin McEvoy remaining aboard for this assignment.

At her peak today and with a clear run to the line, she looks right in the mix here and well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
