Race 1: No.2 Presscode

The Alex Rae-trained galloper is high-flying after three starts back and looks right up to the challenge in this event.

Last start, the well-bred Press Statement gelding was shooting for the hat-trick when he beat all but one home in a BM62 over 1000m at Cranbourne.

Bailey Kinninmont settled him second, outside the leader to the turn, then in the run home, never stopped chasing but couldn’t bridge the gap, taking home the silver medal.

Back to the city here, he draws gate five and maps to settle just behind the early speed with Todd Pannell back for his second ride on the gelding.

In top-shelf form and at his peak here, the lightly-raced five-year-old looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.

Race 3: No.1 Czech Out

The Richards & Moyle-trained galloper is in top-shelf form this time in and ticks all the boxes here that suggest he will take a ton of beating in this event.

Last start, the Prague gelding landed his second career win when he took out a BM66 Hcp, here over 1100m.

Sent out the $2.50 elect, regular rider Taylor Johnstone had him box-seating early but he overraced to the home turn before settling, then scored a dream rails run as the leader shifted out, then went on with it to score an impressive win.

Meeting similar company here, he gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to settle just behind the speed with Johnstone steering the ship again.

At his peak and already a track and distance winner here, the three-year-old should prove hard to hold out in this contest.

Race 7: No.10 Regal Ripper

Team Stokes saddle-up Regal Ripper here who has mixed his form this preparation but looks well placed to figure in the finish of this event.

Last start, the Zousain gelding came off a run of outs and surprised punters when he took out a BM 0-64, here over 1522m.

Harry Grace settled him last in the 10-strong field but soon after began creeping closer, then rounding the turn, scouted wide and in the run home, finished over the top of them, claiming victory by a length on the line.

Taking on BM72 company here, he jumps from gate six and maps to settle near mid-field with cover and has Grace at the helm again.

Already a three-time winner at the track, the four-year-old looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
