Ipswich racing takes place on Friday, October 30 with a 7-race program set down for the Ipswich racetrack.

Race 2: No.2 Down Under Stunnah

The Michael Morrison-trained galloper has shown recent improvement and fourth-up here, looks set to figure in the finish of this event.

Last start, the Under the Louvre mare beat all but one home in a Class 2 Plate, here over 1965m with Brandon Lerena in the saddle.

From barrier rise she was box-seating to the turn, before coming off the leader’s heels, then in the run home, chased valiantly all the way to the line but was unable bridge the gap, taking home the silver medal in the end.

Stepping-up to Class 3 competition here, she draws gate five and maps to settle mid-field or better with Lerena at the helm again.

Already a winner at the track and at her peak here, the six-year-old should prove hard to hold out in this contest.

Race 6: No.13 Ninjitzou

Robert Heathcote saddles-up Ninjitzou here who is second-up and poised to play a leading role in the outcome of this event.

Last start, the Zousain gelding came off a 16-week spell and did well when he finished a close-up third in a BM60 over 1800m at the Sunshine Coast.

On a Heavy 10 that day, Taylor Marshall had him box-seating to the turn, then as the leader hung-out on straightening, he grabbed the rails-run and fought all the way home but was unable to bridge the gap, nosed-out of second prize on the line.

Fitter for that first-up run, he draws well in gate four here and has Marshall aboard again for this assignment.

Dropping sharply in grade, he lines-up in Class 2 company here and proven in wet conditions, the five-year-old looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.

Race 7: No.5 Doingiteasy

The Matt Dunn-trained galloper is back on-track after three runs back and looks well placed here to go one better in this event.

Last start, the Santos gelding beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1400m at Grafton.

Andrew Mallyon settled him fourth, one off the fence to the turn before tracking wide and on straightening he was six horses off the fence and finished strongly down the centre of the track, arriving in time to grab the silver medal,

Seeing the Ipswich track for the first time, he gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to settle just behind the speed with Mallyon steering the ship again.

Fourth-up and at his peak here, the five-year-old looks a major threat in this contest.
