We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Wagga racetrack.

Race 5: No.5 Rebel Terra

The Pat Murphy-trained galloper has impressed in his first two race starts and looks well placed here for back-to-back success in this event.

Last start, the Rebel Dane gelding showed improvement off his debut effort when he claimed victory in a set weights Maiden Plate over 1100m at Nowra.

Slowly away, he settled last of the eight runners and overraced for the first half of the event before Winona Costin pushed him forward nearing the turn, then as the widest runner on straightening, he found another gear and stormed home to grab the win by a length on the line.

Jumping from gate five here, he maps to settle back in the field again with Molly Bourke as the new pilot for this assignment.

Stepping-up to Class 1 company today, he drops a little in weight and with a trouble-free run, looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.

Race 7: No.2 Urafiki

Danielle Seib saddles-up Urafiki here who is second-up and coming off city-class racing looks set to bounce back in this event.

Last start, the Written Tycoon mare came off a 21-week spell and thrown straight into the deep end when she finished down the track in a strong BM72 over 1300m at Rosehill.

Shaun Guymer settled her near mid-field on the fence to the turn before coming off heels then in the run home, never stopped chasing and was only found out over the final fifty metres where her condition gave out, seeing the $51 chance finish four lengths behind the winner.

Returning to country racing today, she draws gate five and maps to settle near mid-field with Guymer steering the ship again, having already ridden the gelding to three of his six career wins to date.

Already a winner when second-up, he should find this a lot easier today and is a definite winning chance in this contest.

Race 8: No.3 Pietro Road

The Tim Donnelly-trained galloper is high-flying this time in and ticks all the boxes here to suggest he will take beating in this event.

Last start, the I Am Invincible gelding came off a win in BM66 company and facing a similar assignment, beat all but one home over 1000m on this track.

At barrier rise, he blew the start badly and settled last, four lengths from the rest of them before tacking on nearing the turn, then leaving the fence, he was held-up early in the run home before finally securing a split and despite giving away such a big start, stormed home to grab second prize, beaten a head on the line.

Ideally drawn in gate one again and maps to settle back in the field with Carly Frater retaining the ride for this assignment.

Already a track and distance winner here, the six-year-old is at his peak after three runs back and looks the testing material in this contest.
