We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Doomben racetrack.

Race 4: No.11 Cardonette

The Tony Gollan-trained galloper is yet to miss the podium after seven starts and ticks all the boxes here that suggest she will take beating in this event.

Last start, the Exceedance mare was shooting for the hat-trick when she beat all but one home in a BM0-65, here over 1110m.

Slowly away, Ben Thompson settled her back in the field to the turn before scouting wide, then on straightening, she could see them all but found plenty in reserve and stormed home to grab second prize in the event.

Well drawn in gate five here, she maps to settle back in the field with Thompson retaining the ride for this assignment.

Fourth-up and at her peak here, the four-year-old looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.

Race 8: No.7 Bluepinot

Chris Waller saddles-up Bluepinot here who is high-flying of late and ticks enough boxes here to suggest he can figure in the finish of this event.

Last start, the Blue Point gelding came off a BM70 win at Toowoomba and stepped-up to a city lass challenge where he did well to finish third in a Class 6 over 1600m at Eagle Farm.

Jace McMurray settled him third, parked behind the two leaders to the turn, then in the run home, secured an inside run and chased valiantly all the way to the line, beaten by the class on the day but still managed to claim that minor prize in the end.

From gate six, he maps to settle mid-field or better with Ryan Maloney returning for his fourth ride on the gelding.

The stats show he has a liking for the Doomben track, boasting two wins and as many runner-up finishes from his six starts here and with a trouble-free run, he looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.

Race 10: No.7 Ten Deep

The Tony Gollan-trained galloper is two starts back from a five-month break and showing plenty of improvement already, looks the one to beat in this event.

Last start, the Ten Sovereigns mare showed signs of her best form when she beat all but one home in a set weights Class 6, here over 1350m.

Drawn the fence that day, Emily Lang settled her mid-field with cover to the turn before coming off heels, then she was held-up to the 200m mark before finding clean air where she ran home strongly to grab the silver medal, beaten less than a length on the line.

Jumping from gate five here, she maps to settle better than mid-field with Bella Youngberry as the new pilot for this assignment.

Already a two-time winner when third-up and yet to miss the podium after three runs on the Doomben track, the five-year-old meets most of these better at the weights and looks the testing material in this contest.
