Race 2: No.6 Magali Magic
The Tom Wolfe-trained galloper has found her best form and looks the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the American-sired mare came off a Class 3 win at Northam when she beat all but one home over 1200m at Belmont with Lucy Fiore in the saddle.
At her peak after four starts back this preparation, Fiore has the reins again where the mare gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to do no early work and settle near mid-field on the fence.
She drops back to the 1100m where she is already a winner and has placed on this track previously.
Given a trouble-run here, she looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.
Race 6: No.7 Wembanyama
Mack Hall saddles-up Wembanyama here who is high-flying this time in and looks to play a major role in the outcome of this event.
Last start, the Dundeel gelding was at his best when fourth-up and took out a restricted race over the mile trip on this track.
With William Pike at the helm, he settled back in the field before making a move on the turn where he finished best and went on to win comfortably by more than a length on the line.
At his peak now, he draws nicely in gate three where he maps to do little early work and settle near mid-field on the fence.
Pike steers the ship again and if he secures clean air in the run home, he looks hard to hold out in this contest.
Race 8: No.10 Twain’s Angel
The Team Casey-trained galloper is second-up here and a look at her resume suggests she will take a ton of beating in this event.
Last start, the Toronado mare resumed off a lengthy 23 weeks off the scene when she finished fourth in a WFA event for three-year-olds over 1200m at Kalgoorlie.
Caught wide most of the way, she still finished off gamely to just miss a podium finish, beaten just over two lengths on the line.
Boasting three podium finishes in four previous Listed events, she is already a two-time winner when second-up and has five wins at the track and distance next to her name as well.
Brad Parnham is the new pilot and from barrier eight, she maps to settle better than mid-field.
With a clear run home and avoiding any dramas here, the five-year-old looks a serious player here and should prove hard to hold out in this contest.
