Caulfield racing takes place on Saturday, October 18, with a 10-race program set down for Caulfield racetrack.

Race 2 No.7- Arabian Prince

Race 2 No.7- Arabian Prince

Interesting race with the three-year-old stayers on a path towards the Derby. A few of these come out of the Super Impose Stakes (1800m) and it is Arabian Prince that might have a bit of upside over those that finished in front of him. The Michael Kent-trained galloper was fresh off an 11-week break heading into that race and settled back on a very slow tempo. He built momentum as they cornered and closed off with the fastest last 200m to land on the heels of the placegetters in 5th position. The son of Ghaiyyath had only one start prior to that for a fast finishing 3rd in the Byerley Handicap (1800m) on debut. He has 2000m+ written all over him and will be hard to hold out at the business end.

Race 4 No.2- Tentyris

Tentyris is a clear top pick in the Gothic Stakes for the three-year-olds. The Godolphin galloper was 3rd in the Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at the track and trip as a two-year-old then was put away after sustaining injury following a Todman Stakes (1200m) win ahead of Wodeton. He was a tad underdone when resuming at Flemington in the Danehill Stakes when the likes of McGaw and My Gladiola swept past on what might have been the better part of the track. Expect him to be revved up for this at his second run back and he meets the winner out of the Danehill Stakes 1.5kg better at the weights.

Race 6 No.3- Arabian Summer

Arabian Summer can make amends after a luckless effort to place 6th behind Giga Kick in the Schillaci Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield last weekend. The Tony & Calvin McEvoy mare settled midfield in that race and was working into it before being held up from the turn until the 100m. She never really had a clear passage in the Moir Stakes (1000m) prior to that when resuming. Third up at her last preparation, she was an eight length improver on benchmark figures when scoring over the 1100m here and if the daughter of Too Darn Hot handles the one-week back-up, she will be very hard to beat.
