Race 2: No.4 Flying Grey
The Brad Widdup-trained galloper is third-up here and ticks the right boxes that suggest she can figure in the finish of this event.
Last start, the D'argento mare came off her first-up Maiden win when she stepped-up to Class 1 company and finished fourth in the 1600m event at Hawkesbury.
Christian Reith settled her back in the field and on straightening, could see them all but finished well to pass half the field before crossing the line just behind the placegetters.
Well drawn here in gate four, she maps to do no early work while settling in the back half of the field with Reith retaining the ride for this assignment.
Fitter for those two runs back and already a winner on this track, she lines-up here looking well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 5: No.6 Cool Blaze
Gary Portelli saddles-up Cool Blaze here who is second-up and is well placed to grab a win in this event.
Last start, the Pierata mare resumed off a 19-week spell and did well when finishing third in a BM64 Hcp over 1000m at Wyong.
Ridden a treat by Anna Roper, the mare settled third on the fence before coming off heels on the turn, then soon after took the lead but was swamped by two swoopers near line, leaving her with the bronze medal in the race.
Facing an easier task here against Class 1 company, she draws ideally in gate two with Roper sticking with the mare.
Fitter for that fresh run and already placed twice in two appearances at the track and trip, the four-year-old looks the testing material in this contest.
Race 6: No.5 Miss Farnan
The Waterhouse & Bott-trained galloper is high-flying after two runs back and looks perfectly placed to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Farnan filly came off a first-up podium finish and showed further improvement when she took out a Class 1 Hcp over 1100m at Hawkesbury.
On a Heavy 8 that day, Rachel King had her leading from the outset where she left the machine from the outside gate and set a solid pace before having them all off the bit in the run home, fighting off all challenges to collect the major prize in the race.
Taking on BM64 opposition here, she strips fitter for two runs back and gets the gun-run from gate one with King steering the ship again.
Yet to miss a podium finish in three starts to date, the three-year-old looks a very promising filly and will take beating in this contest.
