Race 1: Class 6 Hcp (1350m) – Midnight Dynamite
The Bjorn Baker-trained galloper was second-up on Saturday where he drew gate one clobbered his rivals, leading from barrier to box, putting two lengths on them across the line.
Left alone in front to dictate the race, he set a reasonable pace to the turn, but them slapped on the speed and was never troubled on his to the winning post.
He appears to have come back even fitter and looks to have more wins in him yet.
Race 4: Spirit Of Boom Classic (Group 2) (1200m) – Martist
The Tony Gollan-trained two-year-old caught the eye on Saturday when resuming off a 10-week break where he came from well back to grab second prize in the race.
Settling back with the tail enders early, he tracked wide on the turn but Mark Zahra then switched back to the inside looking for room and in the final 100m, weaved his way through to grab the silver medal, beaten just a head on the line.
By far, the run of the race and currently nominated for both the Sires’ Produce and J.J Atkins, $21 is still available for both events with Ladbrokes.
Race 6: Bright Shadow (Listed) (1110m) – Cigar Flick
The Chris Waller-trained galloper resumed off a 15-week spell on Saturday and surprised punters with a last-to-first finish.
Trailing the field early, Tommy Berry kept the Churchill mare on the fence for the entire trip and as they straightened, the mare was presented with a dream passage which she took and finished too strong for them in the run home.
