Race 3: No.8 Esta Mirando

The Team Williams-trained galloper resumes here after six months off the scene and with a coupe of trials under her belt, she can figure in the finish of this event.

Last start, the Irish-bred filly ended her last campaign finishing unplaced in the Group 3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes over 1600m at Ascot.

Always well back in the run, she never stopped trying but found the class a little too rich that day, beaten just over four lengths on the line with Austin Galati in the saddle.

On fresh legs here, she jumps from barrier eight and maps to settle near mid-field and after steering her to both career wins to date, William Pike returns for this assignment.

Finishing runner-up at her latest trial, she looks ready to go and with a trouble-free run, should be there at the finish in this contest.

Race 6: No.4 Arizona Sky

Yet to miss a podium finish in four career starts, the Team Williams-trained galloper only has to overcome a wide gate here to be in the firing line for back-to-back wins in this event.

Last start, the Flying Artie gelding came off two-straight minor placings when he clobbered his rivals in a set weights Maiden over 1500m at Pinjarra.

From gate 13 (of 15), William Pike settled him mid-field but was trapped wide to the turn before scouting even wider, then found another gear and soon after took the lead and went on to score by more than three lengths on the line.

Drawn gate 12 here, he maps to settle back in the field and take a sit with Pike in control again for this assignment.

At his peak after three runs back, the step-up to the 1500m looks ideal now and despite the rise in class, he looks well placed for another big effort in this contest.

Race 7: No.3 Ancient Guidance

Ryan Hill saddles-up Ancient Guidance here who is second-up and ticks enough boxes to be considered a winning chance in this event.

Last start, the God Has Spoken gelding resumed off a lengthy 34-week absence and did well to finish third in a Rating 58+ Hcp over 1230m at Albany.

On a Heavy 10 that day, he drew the outside gate (11) settling back in the field, he was trapped wide throughout but still managed a podium finish, grabbing the minor prize on the line.

Drawn much better here in gate 2, he maps to settle back in the field with Brad Parnham returning for his second ride on the five-year-old.

Boasting a strong track record, he has won twice over the track and trip from three previous runs and fitter for that first-up effort he looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
