Who were the eyecatchers, who should you add to your black book for upcoming races and meetings and who do we recommended following in the weeks and months ahead?
Race 4: BM72 Hcp (1300m) – Nitro
The Peter Snowden-trained gelding resumed off a 22-week spell on Saturday and impressed with a fast finishing second place in this event.
Drawn wide in gate 10, Tom Sherry settled him back in the field, spotting the leaders 10 lengths mid-race.
Still third-last when they cornered, he came off heels and ran home strongly but gave them too much start in the end.
It was still an impressive return to the track and the three-year-old will only improve on that effort so keep him safe for now.
Race 7: Denise’s Joy Stakes (Listed) (1100m) – Miss Freelove
Second-up on Saturday, the Tassort filly surprised a few when she came from well back to grab victory on the line in the 15-strong event.
Well ridden by Rachel King, she settled worse than mid-field and overraced in the middle stages before turning for home, she stuck to the fence where King secured a racing line and drove the filly home, grabbing victory right on the post.
Even fitter now with two runs under her belt, it may pay to stick with her for now.
Race 10: Luskin Star Stakes (Listed) (1300m) – Sun God
The Chris Waller-trained galloper resumed off a 14-week spell on Saturday and turned heads with a whirlwind finish that saw him claim first prize in this event.
After settling worse than mid-field, Tyler Schiller steered him wide on the turn where he was held-up at a vital stage before finding a needle-eye opening and darting through to grab victory on the line.
Known for his success in longer races, stay with him for a few more yet, especially trips over the mile.
