Jerry Chau settled him back in the field to the turn before tracking wide on the corner and with the leader (Honest Witness) off and gone, he still ran home strongly to grab the minor prize, taking ground off the first two past the post.

From barrier eight, he maps to settle near mid-field with Chau in the saddle again.

Still with just the one win after 12 career starts, he gets his chance here to change that and at his peak tonight, he looks in the mix to collect the big prize in this contest.

Race 6: No.5 World Hero

David Hayes saddles-up World Hero here who is in a purple patch of form and is well placed here to go on with it in this event.

Last start, the well-bred Written Tycoon gelding was shooting for the hat-trick when he finished third in a Class 4, here over 1200m.

From the outside gate (12), Harry Bentley pushed him forward to find a sit and settled second without cover to the turn, then ran home strongly but with the early work done, he couldn’t bridge the gap and was out-bobbed on the line for second prize as well, taking home the bronze medal for the race.

Drawn much better here in gate five, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen near the fence and has Hugh Bowman as the new pilot.

The stable put the blinkers back on tonight and already a two-time winner at the track and trip, he looks a serious winning chance in this contest.

Race 9: No.9 Honest Witness

The David Hayes-trained galloper has found his mojo this campaign and ticks all the boxes here that suggest the hat-trick is on the cards tonight.

Last start, the Written By gelding made it back-to-back successes when he destroyed his rivals in a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1200m.

Zac Purton took him straight to the lead at barrier rise where he set a very strong pace to the turn, then found another gear and in the run home, put a space on them all as he crossed the line five lengths clear, eased near the post.

Stepping-up in grade tonight, he takes on Class 3 company and from gate five, maps to be on the speed with Purton at the helm again, looking for his third win on the four-year-old.

Dropping 5kgs for this assignment, he looks a major contender for his third-straight win in this contest.
