Race 3: No.8 Sister Daae
The Chris Waller-trained galloper is in great touch this time in and down in the weights here, looks a genuine winning chance in this event.
Last start, the Zoustar mare found the podium for the third time this preparation when she beat all but one home in a BM78, here over 1400m with Jason Collett aboard.
On a Heavy 8, she settled mid-field before making up good ground in the run home, arriving in time to claim the silver medal.
Meeting similar company here, she draws well in gate three and maps to settle back again with James McDonald (J.Mac) returning for his second ride on the mare.
The stable fit the blinkers for the first time and given a clear run to the line, the four-year-old looks a real threat in this contest.
Race 4: No.9 Nkosi
Bjorn Baker saddles-up Nkosi here who made a dynamic impression at his Australian debut and looks the one to beat again in this event.
Last start, the former New Zealander stepped out onto Australian soil for the first time and destroyed his rivals in a Class 1 Hcp over 1600m at Wyong.
Parked outside the leader to the turn, Dylan Gibbons then steered him to the front and showing a great turn-of-foot, the Shamus Award gelding left them to fight over the minors as he crossed the line four lengths clear in the end.
Stepping up in grade here, he takes on BM78 company in the city but drops 5.5kgs in the process with Gibbons in the saddle again.
Ideally drawn in gate two, he maps to be box-seating on settling and should take a ton of beating in this contest.
Race 7: No.10 Without Parallel
The Matt Dunn-trained galloper is unbeaten in four starts and ticks all the boxes here that suggest she can remain that way in this event.
Last start, the British-sired mare made it four-straight when she destroyed her opposition in a Class 3 Highway Hcp, here over 1200m.
On a Heavy 10 that day, Anna Roper had the mare settled outside the leader to the turn before taking over on straightening and raced away to win by almost five lengths on the line.
Ideally drawn in gate two here, she maps to be box-seating with Roper in the saddle again.
Down 2kgs after the claim, she looks weighted and gated to remain unbeaten and is clearly the testing material in this contest.
