Hill Stakes and Roman Consul Stakes Day at Rosehill produced plenty of horses worth following into their next starts.

We have identified the runners that caught the eye and are worth adding to your Blackbook following Saturday's meeting.

Race 2 - Class 3 Handicap (1500m)- Spread The Love 🥉 (3rd)

Spread The Love produced another solid performance when finishing third in the Class 3 Handicap over 1500m at Rosehill. The Canberra-based four-year-old has been a model of consistency throughout her career, recording three wins and four minor placings from 11 starts, including placings at her past two outings. She was held up from the 400m until near the 250m before being inconvenienced again at the 150m and forced to change course after the 100m, eventually finishing just 1.24 lengths from the winner. There was plenty of merit in the performance given the interrupted passage, and she looks capable of breaking through again in a similar race over her next couple of starts.

Race 5 - Tapp-Craig, Listed 3yo (1400m)- Chuchichaschtli 🥇 (1st)

Chuchichaschtli looks a filly with a very bright future after making the leap from maiden company to Listed grade with an impressive victory in the Tapp-Craig (1400m). The Team Hawkes-trained daughter of Exceedance was having just her second career start after winning on debut at Warwick Farm last month, but she showed plenty of class when taking a narrow gap along the inside before bursting clear to defeat Omolong by 1.75 lengths. Loved the way she accelerated through the opening and continued to find the line strongly, suggesting there is plenty more improvement to come. Michael Hawkes has held a high opinion of the filly for some time, and she certainly justified that confidence with a dominant performance against much stronger opposition. The Callander-Presnell (1600m) at Randwick is a possible next assignment, and given what she has shown in just two starts, she looks capable of progressing through the grades towards feature races. Onwards and upwards for this promising filly.

Race 10 - Benchmark 78 (1100m)- Ellipsis 🥉 (3rd)

Ellipsis looks to have returned in excellent order after producing an encouraging first-up performance to finish third in the Benchmark 78 over 1100m at Rosehill. The Bjorn Baker-trained five-year-old began awkwardly and settled further back than intended before working home strongly, despite being unable to be fully tested between the 200m and 150m. She eventually finished just 1.43 lengths behind Fierce, who was impressive in winning the race. The lightly raced mare has been a model of consistency throughout her career, finishing outside the top three just once in 10 starts, and there should be plenty of improvement to come with the benefit of this outing. She was a winner third-up last preparation and looks capable of adding to her record over the next couple of starts. Keen to stick with her.
