The Team Freedman-trained galloper is on the improve after two starts back and looks well placed here to play a role in this event at odds.
Last start, the Tagaloa gelding put in a much better effort second-up when he beat all but one home in a BM58 over 1600m at Goulburn.
From gate 7, Dale Cole settled him in the back-half of the field before working into the race on the turn, then in the run home, carrying top weight, he stormed home to grab second prize, beaten less than a length on the line.
Facing Class 1/Maiden company here, he draws gate nine and maps to cross and settle mid-field or better with Keagan Latham as the new pilot.
Already a winner when third-up, the four-year-old looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 7: No.9 Call Me Sassy
The David Pfieffer-trained galloper is in ever-consistent for form this time in and gets her opportunity to change her luck in this event.
Last start, the Zoustar mare rang-up her seventh minor placing when she collected third prize in a Class 1 Hcp over 1300m at Kembla Grange.
With Tommy Berry aboard, she settled third, one off the fence to the turn before crossing heels and in the run home, hit the line well but was unable to bridge the gap, having to settle for the minor prize in the race.
Drawn the outside gate here (12), she maps to cross and settle near mid-field with Berry steering the ship again and with a little luck in running, she can figure in the finish of this contest.
Race 8: No.3 The Stars Align
Third-up here, the Anthony Mountney-trained galloper comes off a metropolitan failure and gets the chance to bounce back in this easier event.
Last start, the Star Turn gelding came off a first-up win at Moruya when he stepped-up to city class company and unable to match it with them on the day, finished last in a BM72 over 1600m at Randwick.
Tailed off at barrier rise, he never recovered from that point on and failed to pass a runner in the run to the line.
Dropping back to Provincial company here, he draws nicely in gate four and maps to settle near mid-field with Jean Van Overmeire retaining the reins for this assignment.
Already a winner when third-up and dropping sharply in class, the five-year-old looks a solid chance of returning to the winner’s circle in this contest.
