The Sydney-based galloper sees the Gold Coast track for the first time and second-up looks a strong chance of going back-to-back in this event.

Last start, the Capitalist mare resumed after 11 weeks off the scene and on fresh legs, led from barrier to box in a BM72 over 1300m at Randwick.

With Zac Lloyd aboard, she the mare controlled the race from the outset and in the run home, never looked like losing, going on to score by more than a length on the line.

From gate seven, she maps to be showing them the way again with Lloyd retaining the ride.

Already a winner when second-up, a trouble-free run here can see the four-year-old show them a clean set of heels and prove hard to run down in this contest.

Race 5: No.1 Axius

Ciaron Maher saddles-up Axius here who is second-up and high-flying boasting strong claims to take out this event.

Last start, the Justify gelding resumed off a 17-week break and showed a ton of fight to take out a BM78 over 1200m at Randwick.

Nash Rawiller settled him mid-field before tracking wide on the turn and fought on strongly to arrive in time and claim the winner’s cheque on the line.

Drawn out on gate nine here, with a good start, he maps to settle better than mid-field with cover and has Rawiller steering the ship again.

Solid fresh form shows he is already a winner when second-up and he looks more than capable of making his first run at the Gold Coast a winning one.

Race 10: No.9 Bossed Up

The Tony Gollan-trained galloper is in top-shelf form this preparation and looks well placed in this line-up to give the gold medal a real shake at odds.

Last start, the well-bred Better Than Ready gelding came off a BM85 win at Doomben and against similar company at Eagle Farm, finished a close-up third in the 1200m event.

Drawn the outside gate (10) that day, Angela Jones settled him mid-field and in the run home, made up plenty of ground, beaten a length on the line.

Drawn much better here in gate four, he maps to settle back in the field but saving ground on the fence and has Ben Thompson returning for his second ride on the five-year-old.

Racing in career-best form of late, a clear run to the line can see him there at the finish and is well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
