Race 5: No.7 Nicish
The Phillip Stokes-trained galloper has found her mojo and looks set to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Nicconi mare finally knocked-up her first win for this campaign when she took out a BM66 Hcp, here over 1250m.
She settled mid-field early to the turn, then coming off heels, ran home strongly and finished best to take home the major prize, winning by more than a length over the line.
Drawn the outside gate (9) here, she maps to cross and settle mid-field or better with Brooke King retaining the ride for this assignment.
Boasting four wins and five minor placings from her 11 starts at the track and distance, she has to be considered a major chance for victory in this contest.
Race 7: No.2 Canny Defense
The Mildura-based galloper is in great touch of late and looks every chance of going back-to-back in this event.
Last start, the National Defense gelding stepped out onto the Parks circuit for the first time and made every post a winner when he took out a Class 2 Hcp, here over 1568m.
Ridden a treat by Stacey Metcalfe, he settled in the box seat and trailed the leader to the turn, before securing a run along the fence and slipped through to grab the lead and go on to score by half a length on the line.
From gate six here, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen and with previous success on the board, Campbell Rawiller returns for his second ride on the galloper.
Now a track and distance winner, he is well placed here to do it again in this contest.
Race 9: No.14 La Roux
Phillip Stokes saddles-up La Roux here who resumes off a 16-week spell and ticks all boxes that suggest a win on fresh legs is a distinct possibility in this event.
Last start, the Zousain filly ended her last campaign on a disappointing note when she finished down the track in a BM72 Hcp, here over 1050m on the main track.
Jacob Opperman settled her mid-field to the turn, then in the run home, had nothing left to offer and failed to run on, beaten 4.5 lengths over the line.
She returned to work in May where she won a Morphettville trial over 600m.
Drawn in barrier eight here, she maps to push forward and cross to settle mid-field or better with Brooke King as the new pilot for this assignment.
Unbeaten in two previous first-up appearances and already a track and distance winner as well, the three-year-old looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
