Race 4: No.16 Techna
The Team Munce-trained galloper is high-flying after two starts back and is drawn for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Boulder City mare was second-up when she clobbered her rivals in a BM68 Hcp over 1800m at Eagle Farm.
After settling back in the field, from a wide draw, Robbie Dolan worked her into the race before the turn, then scouting wide on the turn, moved up and soon after took control, racing away to win by four lengths on the line.
Facing BM70 opposition here, she carries just 1kg more and draws ideally in gate two, maps to settle near mid-field with Dolan steering the ship again.
Fitter for those two runs back and already a winner when third-up, the four-year-old should prove hard to hold out in this contest.
Race 5: No.14 Stein
Team Munce saddle-up Stein here who is third-up and dropping sharply in weight, looks a major threat in this event.
Last start, the Written By filly showed plenty of improvement off her first-up effort when she finished third in a Class 1 Hcp over 1200m at Eagle Farm.
Box-seating on settling, she trailed the leader to the turn before coming off heels then in the run home, chased hard all the way and although doing her best work over the final 100m, was unable to bridge the gap and had to settle for the minor prize that day.
Ideally drawn in gate two here, she maps to be box-seating again with Mark Du Plessis as the new pilot for this assignment.
The stable fit the blinkers for the first time and already a winner when third-up, the three-year-old should take plenty of beating in this contest.
Race 8: No.6 Express Payment
The Robert Heathcote-trained galloper is high-flying this preparation and looks set to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Rich Enuff gelding made it five-straight podium finishes when he took out a BM85 Hcp over 1400m at the Sunshine Coast.
From gate 13 (of 16), he settle mid-field one off the fence to the turn before tracking wide then in the run home, finished best to arrive in time and grab the gold medal in the race with Michael Rodd in the saddle.
From barrier eight here, he maps to cross and settle near the speed with Craig Newitt aboard for the first time.
Already a three-time winner at the track and distance, the five-year-old is firing on all cylinders at the moment and looks the one to beat in this contest.
