Flemington Racing Tips for March 1- Sepals to go on with the job in the Group 1 Australian Guineas

The four-year-old was impressive at his most recent start when rising from a Colac BenchMark 70 win to a runner-up at Flemington behind Is It Me in this company a fortnight ago. He settled handy and gave a bit of a kick, holding the rest of the field at bay by almost two lengths. The Nick Ryan-trained galloper ran quick time in the process and a repeat performance sees him right in the mix here. 

Keen on Sepals in the feature of the day, the Australian Guineas (1600m). The promising gelding has won three of four career starts and couldn't have been much more impressive when taking out one of the key lead ups to this, the CS Hayes Stakes (1600m) by more than three lengths. The Cliff Brown-trained galloper went 12.8 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is a better figure than what any runner in this race has produced in their careers to date. He draws to enjoy a similar run from barrier 3 and can go on with the job. 

Aramco shapes as a solid player in the final race of the day at Flemington. The Chris Waller-trained galloper resumed at the track and trip on February 15 in the same grade, finishing 3rd behind Smokin’ Princess. He settled handy and was a bit flat footed when the race heated up but fought back well late to land just under a length away. He will strip fitter for this and at the same stage of his last campaign he was a seven-length improver on benchmark figures when scoring at Randwick. The son of Sea The Moon has an excellent record at Flemington and Damian Lane just needs to slot in with cover from barrier 11.
