Race 4: No.2 Zeamaize
The Mark Goodwin-trained galloper is in great touch this time in and looks ideally placed here to bring up his second win on the Eagle Farm track today.
Last start, the Lonhro gelding found the podium for the third time this campaign when he finished third in a Class 1 Plate, here over 1600m.
Carrying 60kgs that day, Angela Jones settled him back in the field and in the run home, made up good ground, arriving in time to grab the minor prize in the race.
Meeting similar company here, he gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to settle near mid-field on the fence with Martin Harley back in the saddle.
At his peak today, a clear run to the line over the longer 1800m trip can see him there at the finish.
Race 5: No.6 Provance
Mark Currie saddles-up Provance here who is high-flying after two starts back and ticks enough boxes to suggest he will take beating in this event.
Last start, the Star Witness gelding was second-up and in the small field of four, finished a close-up third in the Class 6 event, here over 1000m.
Cody Collis settled him outside the leader before taking over soon after straightening and fought strongly all the way home but was out-gunned late and had to settle for the minor prize on the day.
Down in grade here, he faces BM70 competition and from gate four, maps to settle right behind the early speed with Collis in charge again.
Fitter for two runs back and already a winner when third-up, the four-year-old looks the testing material in this contest.
Race 6: No.8 Jenchick Boom
The Tony Gollan-trained galloper has been right there at her first two starts back and now looks ready to win again.
Last start, the Spirit of Boom mare was second-up when finishing third in a BM68 over 1200m at Doomben.
Trying to lead all the way, she shook-off early challenges as she led them into the home straight but felt the pinch over the final 100m, taking home the minor prize in the end.
Angela Jones was aboard that day and boasting a strong record with the mare, has the reins again for this assignment.
The five-year-old maps to go forward and settle in the first half-dozen from barrier eight and already a winner when third-up, gets her chance to claim another gold medal in this contest.
