Race 5: No.9 Dashing Rupert
The Team Archibald-trained galloper is second-up here and ticks the right boxes that suggest he is a solid chance of challenging for victory in this event.
Last start, the Winning Rupert gelding resumed after five months off the scene and in need of the run, finished unplaced in a BM72 over 1400m at Rosehill.
Ash Morgan settled him back in the field where he held his own and ran home fairly to finish sixth across the line.
From gate nine, he maps to settle near mid-field with Morgan calling the shots again.
A two-time winner on heavy tracks, conditions here look perfect for him and already a winner when second-up, he looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 6: No.2 Lull
Ciaron Maher saddles-up Lull here who is three starts into this preparation and now looks ready to show her best form in this event.
Last start, the well-bred Exceed And Excel filly showed plenty of improvement when she beat all but one home in a BM64, here over 1000m with Tommy Berry aboard.
Carrying 60.5kgs, she settled back in the field before tracking the field into the home straight, then coming off heels, he hit the line hard, doing her best work over the final 100m and arriving in time to grab the second prize in the race.
Meeting similar company here, she steps-up to the 1250m which looks ideal for her now and at her peak, the Godolphin filly should prove hard to hold out in this contest.
Race 7: No.11 Smiling Prophet
The Mark Minervini-trained galloper has been thereabouts in three runs this campaign and looks well placed here to land a podium finish in this event.
Last start, the Divine Prophet mare found the trip too short when she finished mid-field in a BM64 over the 900m sprint at Newcastle.
Olivia Chambers settled her back in the field to the turn, then spotting them a tidy start, did well in the run home to finish sixth, beaten less than three lengths over the line.
Fitter here, she tackles the 1000m trip and gets all the favours as the six-year-old draws gate one and maps to settle near mid-field with Tyler Schiller in the irons for this assignment.
At her peak now, carrying less weight here, the mare has sound wet track form and a ticket on both totes looks the way to go.
