Steve Bennett picks out his blackbookers and horses to follow from Saturday racing at Rosehill on 27 June.

Race 4: Benchmark 72 (1400m) – Namaste

The Bjorn Baker-trained gelding resumed on Saturday after more than five months off the scene and did well to finish fourth in the event.

After settling back in the field early Tom Sherry eased him off the fence on straightening but ran into dead ends before easing off heels and hit the line strongly, doing his best work over the final 50 metres.

Watch for him over further ground and on a dry track as well.

Race 9: Benchmark 78 (1200m) – Zouripper

The Joe Pride-trained gelding was second-up on Saturday and showed plenty of improvement when he finished a close-up second in this event.

Settling mid-field on the fence early, Reece Jones played the waiting game with him and stuck to the inside where he was held-up most of the way home until they hung-out in front of him, then securing a rails run, finished hard up against the fence to cross the line just half a length from victory in the end.

He seems to have come back a lot stronger and from here, the only was is up for the five-year-old.

Race 10: Benchmark 88 (1500m) – Hollywood Hero

The Sacred Falls gelding was second-up on Saturday and stepping-up to the 1500m, showed plenty of improvement when finishing a close-up second in this event.

Adam Hyeronimus settled him mid-field on the fence where he sat to the turn, then held-up to the 300m mark, he then bullocked his way through and took over soon after before he was grabbed by Emirate who carried 6kgs less for the event.

The six-year-old has a solid third-up record, boasting a win and four minor placings so keep him safe as he now looks for further ground.
