Race 3: No.13 Southern Heiress
The Michael Freedman-trained galloper is off to a flying start in her racing career and looks all set here for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Snitzel filly was on debut when she destroyed her rivals in a 900m Maiden Plate at Newcastle.
Settling two pairs back without cover, Keagan Latham kept her going and after finding the lead inside the final 150m, she raced away to put more than three lengths on them over the line.
This BM64 is a little tougher but she faces only fillies and mares today and welcomes new pilot Tommy Berry to the saddle.
Ideally drawn in gate four, it’s unsure where she will settle after just one start but draws to do no early work just the same.
With a clear run home, she should be fighting out the finish of this contest.
Race 5: No.1 No Drama
The Matt Dale-trained No Drama is in good touch of late and back on his favourite track here, looks the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the Ghibellines gelding found the podium again when he finished third in a BM72, here over 1550m.
Lumping 62.5kgs, he tried leading all the way but was found out inside the final 100m and had to settle for the minor prize in the race.
Braith Nock returns for the ride and from gate one, gets the gun-run and maps to settle near the speed again.
Already a two-time winner at the track and proven in the wet, the six-year-old will take beating in this contest.
Race 6: No.7 Dimitrov
The O’Shea & Charlton Team saddle-up Dimitrov here who is second-up and looks set to give this event a real shake at odds.
Last start, the I Am Invincible gelding was first-up after 18 months off the scene and did well to finish third in a Class 1 Hcp over 1300m at Kembla Grange.
On an unfamiliar track, he settled two pairs back before crossing heels and running impressively to grab the minor prize in the event.
Early gate speed has him crossing to settle mid-field with cover here as Dylan Gibbons takes the reins for the first time.
Placed twice on wet tracks and runner-up when second-up previously, the five-year-old has also placed second at the track and distance as well.
Down in weight here, a clear run to the line can see him challenging for the major prize here and he looks well worth and each-way ticket in this contest.
