Race 2 No.1- Algorithmic


This looks to be a suitable assignment for Algorithmic to kick of his preparation. The Hawkes galloper had the three starts earlier this year in much harder company than this and was solid when running on for 4th on debut in the Listed Lonhro Plate (1200m) at Randwick, before a couple of competitive efforts at Group 2 level. The son of Zoustar drops right back to Maiden grade and comes back a gelding. Anything near his three runs earlier this year should see him be too classy for his rivals here. 

Race 4 No.8- Delicate Lady


Delicate Lady should be hard to beat in Race 4. The four-year-old has placed in all four of her career starts and resumed with a dominant win in Maiden grade at Bendigo last month before jumping to Saturday grade at Caulfield and missing out in narrow fashion behind Vain Champagne, when grabbed late by that horse. The Jerome Hunter mare went a healthy 8.7 lengths faster than standard benchmark in that race. This is easier and she should be at her peak, while she has attracted a heap of support since markets opened. 

Race 5 No.4- Moonlight Circus


Willing to take the shortish price on Moonlight Circus in Race 5. The promising mare stormed home to take out her Maiden on the Pakenham Synthetic when resuming over the 1400m, grabbing Lady Elsa, with those two gapping the rest. The runner-up out of that then went on to win her next start by three lengths. Moonlight Circus has since had one more run, stepping up to Saturday grade at Flemington when doing her best work late to fill the exacta behind Em Sixty. She comes back in grade for this and should enjoy a nice time of it from barrier 3 with the 3kg claimer, Luke Cartwright, to ride. The pair should be very strong late in the piece. 

Race 8 No.8- Justadeel


Justadeel can end the day a winner. The Hayes galloper resumed from a long layoff at Sandown on Jukly 16 and produced a real eye-catcher when just missing as the exacta horse over the 1300m behind Vienna Vixen. She settled back and stormed home. The lightly raced five-year-old jumps up slightly in trip and was a big improver on benchmark figures at the second run of her last preparation before taking out the Silver Bowl Series Final (1600m) ahead of Rise At Dawn. I suspect she wont be stuck in this grade for too long and with any luck early on from the draw, she should be hard to hold out at the business end.
