The Team Pearce-trained galloper is second-up here and looks in good shape for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Deep Field gelding resumed after five months off the scene when he broke through for his first career win, taking out a set weights Maiden over 1000m at Belmont.
From gate seven, William Pike drove him straight to the lead and from there, went on with it to score by almost a length on the line.
He draws barrier eight here where he maps to settle near the speed and has Zephen Johnston-Porter as the new pilot for this assignment.
Stepping-up to Class 1 grade today, he returns to provincial racing after competing in city class company and fitter for that first-up win, will take beating in this contest.

The Sharon Miller-trained galloper is second-up here and quite capable of figuring in the finish of this event.
Last start, the Maschino gelding resumed off a 17-week spell and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fourth in a Three-Year-Old Hcp over 1400m at Pinjarra.
Drawn the fence that day, he was box-seating on settling to the turn when the leader shifted wide and railing like a greyhound, the gelding took over soon after straightening but his condition gave out inside the final 100m, crossing the line just behind the placegetters.
Fitter for that run, he meets similar company here but will need just a little luck at the start where he draws the outside gate (10) and maps to cross and settle near mid-field with Brayden Gaerth backing-up for the ride.
Already a winner when second-up, a trouble-free run can see him competitive here and is well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 6: No.2 American Image
The Michael Grantham-trained galloper is three starts into her career and looks well placed here for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the American Pharoah filly did a job on her rivals when she broke through for her first win by taking out a set weights Maiden over 1400m at Pinjarra.
William Pike settled her back in the field before tracking into the race on the turn, then soon after straightening, went whoosh where the $1.40 favourite took over and went on to put almost three lengths on them over the line.
Stepping-up to Class 1 competition here, she draws well in gate six and maps to settle just behind the speed with Jefferson Tsang taking over in the saddle.
At her peak here, the three-year-old looks set to go on with it in this contest.
