Race 5: No.8 Nuns Chorus
The Richard Litt-trained galloper is high-flying after two starts back and looks set for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Exceedance filly improved off her first-up minor placing when she broke through for her first win by taking out a Maiden Hcp over 1100m at Goulburn.
Jay Ford settled her back in the field to the turn where she worked into the race, taking the turn via the cape and as the widest runner, stormed home in the Soft 6 conditions, going on to win comfortably by 1.5 lengths.
Stepping-up to Class 1 company today, she draws gate six and maps to settle in the back half of the field again with Zac Lloyd as the new pilot.
Down 2kgs and racing under similar conditions here, the three-year-old looks the testing material in this contest.
Race 6: No.9 Alnair
In top-shelf form this preparation, the Rosehill-based galloper ticks all the boxes that suggest she can figure in this event at odds today.
Last start, the North Pacific filly continued on her winning way when she came off her maiden success (on this track) and franked that effort by taking out a BM58 over 2150m at Goulburn.
Ridden a treat by Keagan Latham, she settled fourth, one out, one back before peeling off heels on the turn, then in the run home, took control inside the final 200m and went on to score by 1.5 lengths on the line with plenty to spare.
Advancing to BM64 competition today, she drops 2.5kgs and draws ideally in gate two where she maps to settle in the first half-dozen in the race.
Kegan Latham is two from two in the saddle with the filly and retains the ride for this assignment.
Shooting for the hat-trick today, the three-year-old looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 7: No.7 Spiritualistic
The Kembla Grange-based galloper has been mixing her form this preparation but looks well placed in the conditions today to take home the chocolates in this event.
Last start, the So You Think mare came off a BM66 victory over 1400m when she finished unplaced in similar company over 1600m at Nowra.
Adam Farragher had her leading on settling but in the run home, the mare weakened and failed to run out the mile trip in the end.
The stable made the decision to drop her back in distance and today, runs over the 1400m and sports blinkers for the first time.
From gate seven, speed maps have her settling on the speed again with Dylan Gibbons as the new pilot for this assignment.
All three career wins have come on wet tracks so conditions today are ideal for the four-year-old who should prove hard to run down in this contest.
