Race 3: No.8 Swing State
The Michael Freedman-trained galloper is high-flying of late and looks on target for back-to-back wins in this event.
Last start, the Pierro gelding made it three-straight top-two finishes when he took out a BM60 over 1690m at Ipswich.
Lumping 61.5kgs, Daniel Moor had him showing the way from barrier rise and from there, was never headed, leading from barrier to box.
Drawing gate six, he maps to go unchallenged as he finds the front-running on settling with Ben Thompson as the new pilot for this assignment.
This Class 3 looks no harder than his last start win and dropping 3.5kgs here, the three-year-old should prove hard to run down in this contest.
Race 6: No.7 Moulin Miss
Tony Gollan saddles-up Moulin Miss here who is in good touch after three runs back and ticks enough boxes here to suggest she will take beating in this event.
Last start, the Spirit of Boom mare wasn’t far away when she finished fourth in a Class 4 Plate over 1000m at the Gold Coast.
Chelsea Baker had her settled second on the fence inside the leader who set a solid pace to the turn, then in the run home, the mare took the lead (briefly) before weakening in the final 100m, beaten by the early speed.
Taking on BM74 company here, she draws gate seven and maps to cross and settle just behind the speed with Leah Martyn in the saddle for the first time.
Freshened-up off a seven-week break, she won a recent trial at Doomben and already a track and distance winner here, looks in the mix for victory in this contest.
Race 7: No.3 Dust Cloud
The Tony Gollan-trained galloper has improved with every start this campaign and looks well placed here to notch-up another win in this event.
Last start, the Maurice gelding finally broke through for his first win when he clobbered his competition, here in a 1300m Maiden Hcp.
From gate seven (of 8), he crossed to settle second on the fence to the turn, then railing like a greyhound, he was left in front on straightening where he found another gear and left them all to fight out the minors, crossing the line almost three lengths clear in the end.
Stepping-up to Class 1 company here, he draws well in gate five with speed maps having him box-seating on settling with Ben Thompson steering the ship again.
At his peak and coming off that last-start win, the three-year-old will take a ton of beating in this contest.
