We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Doomben racetrack.

Race 5: No.7 Delzee

Summer Dickson saddles-up Delzee here who is high-flying after four career starts and looks set to go on with it in this event.

Last start, the Leonardo da Hinchi gelding chalked-up win number two when he took out a 1200m Handicap on this track.

Ridden a treat by Austin Galati, he settled third one off the fence to the turn, then on straightening, peeled off the leader’s heels and quickly took control, then went on to score a comfortable win in the end.

Dropping back to the 1100m here, he draws ideally in gate two and maps to sit just behind the speed on settling with Galati steering the ship again.

This looks no harder and with a trouble-free run here, the four-year-old should prove hard to hold out in this contest.

Race 8: No.2 Immortal Bliss

The Daniel Morton-trained galloper is in great touch this preparation and has a resume that suggests he can figure in the finish of this event.

Last start, the I Am Immortal gelding came off a win in the Belmont Newmarket when he finished third in the Golden Saddle over 1200m at Kalgoorlie.

Slowly away in the million-dollar race, Lucy Fiore settled him in the back half of the field and trapped three-deep to the turn, then tracked even wider on straightening and was too far back to catch the two up front, having to settle for the minor prize in the race.

From gate seven, he maps to settle mid-field with cover and has Fiore in the saddle again for this assignment.

Already a winner here and at his peak now, the five-year-old looks set to bounce back and give this contest a real shake.

Race 9: No.4 Hot And High

The Dion Luciani-trained galloper is high-flying with seven wins from his eight career starts to date and ticks all the boxes here to suggest she can go on with it in this event.

Last start, the Too Darn Hot mare came off a 17-week spell and picked up where she left off by taking out the Listed R.S Crawford Stakes, here over 1200m.

Drawn the fence, Chris Parnham had her box-seating from the outset and trailed the leader to the turn before securing a dream rails-run and in the run home, had too many guns for the 10-strong field in the end.

Facing her biggest test to date here, she gets the gun-run again from gate one with Parnham at the helm and unbeaten in two previous second-up appearances, the four-year-old gives every indication she can repeat the dose in this contest.
