The Declan Maher-trained galloper makes his track debut here and second-up, looks well placed to figure in the finish of this event.

Last start, the Fastnet Rock mare made her stable debut and resuming off a 22-week absence finished fifth in Open company over 1536m at Lismore with Damien Thornton in the saddle.

The six-year-old settled near the tail of the field before making up ground in the run home to cross the line just 3.5 lengths from the winner.

Dropping back sharply in grade here, she takes on BM65 competition and stepping up to the 1800m looks ideal for her now.

Placed when second-up previously, this looks an easier assignment and fitter for that one run back, looks a genuine chance in this contest.

Race 3: No.1 Ceekay’s Choice

The Tony Gollan-trained galloper has done everything but win to date and second-up tonight looks every chance of achieving that goal in this event.

Last start, the Spirit Of Boom mare came agonizingly close to victory again when she beat all but one home in a Maiden Plate over 1100m at Toowoomba with Les Tilley in the saddle.

Sitting one pair back, one off the fence, she had the jump on the leaders before turning for home when she swept to the lead and looked home for all money but (again) was grabbed right on the post by a swooper, leaving her the bridesmaid yet again.

Fitter for that run, she gets all the favours from gate one tonight and has Daniel Moor as the new pilot for this assignment.

With a change of luck and a trouble-free run here, the four-year-old looks set to finally ring-up her first career win in this contest.

Race 4: No.9 Contingency

Paul Shailer saddles-up Contingency here who was impressive on debut and looks all set here to go on with it in this event.

Last start, the Savabeel gelding came off several trials to make his racing debut on this track where he clobbered his rivals when winning a Maiden Plate over 1600m.

With Michael Rodd aboard, he settled near mid-field early before making his run three-wide passing the 600m mark and from there, just went on with it, holding all challenges at bay, saluting by 1.5 lengths over the line.

Now a track and distance winner, he steps-up to Class 1 competition here with Dylan Turner as the new pilot and from gate four, maps to settle in the first half-dozen.

Fitter for that debut performance, a drama-free run tonight should see him there at the finish again.
