Moonee Valley Racing Tips for October 3- Enna’s Dream to end the night a winner

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Moonee Valley racetrack.

Highland Bling should be hard to beat in Race 3 over the stayers trip of the 3000m. The Philip Stokes import has had just the two starts in Australia and showed sharp improvement when stepping up from the unsuitable 1800m to the 2500m at Flemington, sitting handy on a strong tempo before clearing out late to defeat Haaland, with those two putting a bit of a gap on the rest. The lightly raced five-year-old is worse off at the weights over a few of the beaten brigade but will be fitter and will relish every bit of the trip. Expect the son of Highland Reel to be up there just behind the speed early on and the middle stages, while he hard to hold out at the business end. 

This looks to be a winnable race for Lincoln Rocks. The seven-year-old has been building up nicely in his two runs so far this preparation, sticking on for 6th over the 1600m before rising to the Cox Plate distance of the 2040m, finishing a narrow 3rd behind Rise To It, who missed out in a deceiving head-bobber at Sandown last weekend. Only knock on Lincoln Rocks is his third up performance at his last preparation when failing in a BenchMark 78 over the 2200m at Warwick Farm. But his runs at his previous preparation at the track and trip were excellent, winning two in fast time and finishing a very narrow runner up in the other. With some excellent track and trip credentials, as well as the 2kg claim for Logan Bates, he should be in this for a long way. 

We close off with a BenchMark 70 over the 1200m and Enna’s Dream can end the night a winner. The Alex Rae-trained galloper was a winner earlier this preparation at Geelong and comes off a last start runner-up performance at Sandown, when closing off with the fastest last 200m to fill the exacta behind She’s Pretty Rich. She has performed well when deep into previous preparations, while she has fired when dropping back in trip in the past. Importantly, the five-year-old draws to take advantage from barrier 4 and can tuck into a midfield spot with cover, while a couple of the other key fancies draw right out.
