Seymour Racing Tips for September 10 – Plunger to make it three wins from as many starts

Here are our best bets from the meeting, which also feature in our daily selections.

Platinum Pearl can go close in Race 3 of the day at Seymour. The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper made her debut in a Sandown midweek race last month and settled handy before sticking on well for 3rd behind Saintly Dancer, going down by a length. The daughter of Frankel went 1.7 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the best figure that any horse in this race has produced. There are some unknowns with some debutants in action but I suspect that form will hold up with the runner-up out of the Sandown race, Ghana’s Akan, going on to fill the exacta in the recent Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m). Thomas Stockdale rides and strikes at 21% for the stable, providing a 27% profit on investment for punters. 

Keen on Plunger at his first run back from a spell. The unbeaten galloper from the Enver Jusufovic stable has chalked up two wins from as many career starts with those coming at Pakenham back in February. He was good enough to take out a $250,000 Class 3 in the second of those and comes into this with a series of promising trials under the belt. The son of Ace High draws ideally in barrier 6 and gets the 3kg claim for Lana Wood.
